Vietnam is a tropical country, infectious disease from many years, before era of vaccine, was the top killer diseases in Vietnam. Since from the era of vaccine and antibiotic, thousands of lives were saved but creating many more other hard to cure infections or resistant with the treatment.

PHAD invests their effort to preventive research including epidemiological research to help identify best approach to cope with the infectious disease in the country.

 PHAD staff is currently participate in different intervention project such as care and supports for people living with HIV/AIDS in low setting area (Bao Thang, Lao Cai), Prevention of HIV/AIDS for young people (Peer education for young newly recruited military personnel); strengthening VCT and HIV OPC services of military hospitals. PHAD staff is also working with national hospital on infectious disease in a cohort study to measure the drug adherence and its impact to drug resistant in AIDS patient in Vietnam.
